Managing your indoor air quality has become a concern for many homeowners and it is no wonder. STEP #1 - FILTERS
Your air conditioning system contains a filter, most often located in your return air grille. This filter catches the dust and dirt particles in the air that pass through it. Over time the filter will become clogged with excessive dust and dirt, causing the airflow to become restricted. This clogged filter then becomes an air restriction in your air conditioning system. Airflow restrictions can cause many different issues with your air conditioning system like reduced energy efficiency, greater chance of breakdowns, and decreased cooling capacity. Left alone this one dirty filter can cause your air conditioning system to cease functioning altogether! Changing your filters on a monthly basis is not only smart for your health by removing dust and dirt from the air you breathe, but also keeps your air conditioning system running smooth & efficiently, and helps prevent costly repairs. STEP #2 - IAQ
IAQ is a common abbreviation for Indoor Air Quality and is usually used in reference to indoor air quality products. These products take the form of U.V. lights, electronic air cleaners, and our favorite the GPS air cleaner. The air in your home can be up to 100 times more polluted than the air in large cities, like Dallas. This happens because of the way your home is insulated and built. With the increase of insulation your energy bill decreases because the conditioned air cannot escape, however over time this conditioned air becomes extremely polluted with allergens, pet dander, and bacteria. The solution to this is simple, you must clean the air in your home. The GPS air cleaner cleans your air in a very unique process that creates positive and negative ions (cold plasma) in your duct work, which is then distributed through your home.
